Job Description: |
We are looking for a seasoned and professional "Senior Accounts Officer"
To oversee and manage the financial records, processes, and reporting for the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial reports for multiple business units, if applicable.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts regularly.
3. General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review and reconcile ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with management.
- Monitor budget performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations.
5. Taxation and Compliance:
- Should have knowledge of Taxation.
6. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Implement best practices and ensure adherence to internal controls.
7. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, reviewing their work and providing training as needed.
8. Financial Analysis:
- Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
- Provide actionable insights to management for strategic planning and decision-making.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, or similar platforms).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
- Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., BBA, MBA, CA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
